Did you hear it running? Can you drive the car to see condition of tranny?
Regardless, I think it is a good deal if can hear running or if he has proof
of any rebuild receipts? If not running, try and get him down...course I am
frugal that way...

I have been offered a cheap (I think?) sprint six engine, 4 speed box
etc from a '68 / '69 firebird as the guy is dropping in a V8.
It seems a shame as I would have thought it was quite a rare car being
OHC and manual.
I have no need for the engine and box as I have a 68 400 Convert, but I
am considering buying it to store / sell on / use in a project (got a 48
GMC pickup)
He wants approx. $450.
A) is it worth it
B) are they good engines / reliable
