Well...do the math..

What trans do you have now ? find the first gear ratio and compare it to
the th200

If the th200 has a deeper first gear (high number), then you can (and
maybe should) drop the rear gears a bit.

If the th200 has a weak first, then up the gears in back.

You want the same acceleration with the overdrive for cruising right ?
Then do what you can to keep it the same

That's how I would do it

Subject: [FGF] Rear gears for 200R4 transmission?

.
Hi guys

I've been offered to buy a brand new NOS 8.2" limited slip rear gear
carrier.
It's made for 2,56-2,73 gears but the seller claims I can use 2,93-3,23
gears if I get an adapter ring.
Today my Bird has an open 3,08 differential.

I feel the need for a posi rear end so I'm really tempted to buy this
unit but I'm also in the process of installing a 200R4 transmission.
Will the 3.23 gears be to low (numerically) for my combination?

/Niklas
