Sounds like you a book of knowledge!! That is awesome. Am going to be
quizing you for sure about things, so please be patient...lol. Now, here
is a question...the local parts store says that they are the same for a
cramaro and our beloved birds. Accurate or no?

I have the correct 69 disc brake master on my 69 Judge, and it is probably
the same. If you have the orignal to rebuild later, you could just get a
parts store master for now. If you get no answer, I'll try to look tonight.
If you get to the point of really restoring/rebuilding the master/booster, I
know a guy that does actual gold cadmium instead of gold zinc. Most of the
large restorers use zinc which was not used until 1972, and they don't know
what was originally used because I have spoken with one of them. Zinc is
bright and shiney instead of mottled/understated looking as they originally
came. sorry to get off on a tangent here......................

Hi Michael...the previous owner packaged up what he told me
is the original master cylinder. I honestly haven't
looked in the box yet..plan to do that before tossing
it. Was going to look for a code of some kind to
verify and if it is it, I will of course keep it. I
was thinking of rebuilding it but also am just looking for
an immediate solution so i can drive the car a little bit
before the snow comes. I have all winter to make a
plan. At this point, I want to get the maintanence
things done so i have a baseline for the car.
Rick
Ps...do you know what the numbers are or code is for the
original master cylinder?

#1--If you have the original master, please keep it with
the car. It has a 2-letter code in the machined half
moon and a cast date on it in case someone wishes to restore
the car to original condition.
The originals had bleeder screws. I encourage you to
get one from Ames so it will look original. Most parts
stores will give you one that does not even look correct (no
double bails, no bleeders, etc).
I don't remember the years that this style was used.
Doing it "right" may be a little more trouble.
