Hi Michael...the previous owner packaged up what he told me is the original master cylinder. I honestly haven't looked in the box yet..plan to do that before tossing it. Was going to look for a code of some kind to verify and if it is it, I will of course keep it. I was thinking of rebuilding it but also am just looking for an immediate solution so i can drive the car a little bit before the snow comes. I have all winter to make a plan. At this point, I want to get the maintanence things done so i have a baseline for the car.
Rick
Ps...do you know what the numbers are or code is for the original master cylinder?

#1--If you have the original master, please keep it with the car. It has a 2-letter code in the machined half moon and a cast date on it in case someone wishes to restore the car to original condition.

The originals had bleeder screws. I encourage you to get one from Ames so it will look original. Most parts stores will give you one that does not even look correct (no double bails, no bleeders, etc).

I don't remember the years that this style was used. Doing it "right" may be a little more trouble.

Am needing a master cylinder for my 69 400 w/ front
discs. > Checked Ames. Part number FR212R - Good for 1967-69
with front discs, but no bleeder screws.

Part Number FR212RC- Good for 1967-69 with
front discs, and has bleeder screws.

Am wanting to pick one up so I can install it this weekend,
so a few questions arise...
1. Were they all the same part for 67-69 from the
factory?
2. Does anyone have a Napa number that they can
provide? And what year of car did they put it on?
3. What will I actually end up with from the local
parts stores? By that I mean, will it be for a chevy
truck?

So, am looking for clarification and help please.
thx in advance
Rick
