Rick,
As a side note, rebuilding them doesn't take very long. I went through the
same thing you are going through with the m/c on my 69 with factory front
discs. After looking at about 10 m/c locally, I finally ended up getting the
rebuild kit, and I rebuilt it in about an hour. It's been working fine now for
8 years. I wouldn't toss that original m/c if I were you...

Hi Michael...the previous owner packaged up what he told me is the original
master cylinder. I honestly haven't looked in the box yet..plan to do that
before tossing it. Was going to look for a code of some kind to verify and
if it is it, I will of course keep it. I was thinking of rebuilding it but
also am just looking for an immediate solution so i can drive the car a
little bit before the snow comes. I have all winter to make a plan. At
this point, I want to get the maintanence things done so i have a baseline
for the car.
Rick
Ps...do you know what the numbers are or code is for the original master
cylinder?
