If it is already apart, replace the nut with a new one and keep snugging it until it takes 5-10 lb-ft of torque to turn the pinion. There is not a measurement to take on the nut itself. It has to do with the pre-load on the bearings. That is why you use a new nut and simply see how hard it is to turn the pinion.

Something I said?? lol. Not one response from my previous email so i am going to try again. Any one have an idea what the torque spec is on the rear diff pinion nut? Maybe I am not calling it by the right name?
