Niklas, dont get wrapped around the choke here, (Some humor) if it is set right 
it will work perfectly in  your climate. Try it out, adjust it by the book and 
go for it.

Well, for once I'm sorry that I was right.  That little choke coil is a 
continuous source of grief on my old truck.  And I really don't want a manual 
choke, or a later carb.

Turns out you were right Wayne.

My parts dealer couldn't find any electric choke for the old Quadrajets
used on our cars.
On my previous Bird I had a later generation of Q-jet from 1974 wich was
converted to electric choke so I assumed it could be done to this one as
well. Guess I was wrong. I will stick to the stock choke system if it
works.
The only alternative they could find was manual choke.
