Back in the days before fuel injectors, you had a winter tune up to adjust your carb for winter operation.

I usually let my car warm up for 5-10 minutes in the garage before heading out. Yes, with the door open.

My 69 hates the cold too. Of course it was a Florida car for it's first 28 years, so it's understandable...,,

... ...................................................................... Well, my 69 does the same thing. When it's cold outside it runs really rough for a good while till it warms up. It's almost as if it's running on 6 cylinders. I know what the issue is so I don't worry about it. I'd rather have the nice cold air stay cold than to have a stove under the carb. Hell, my Model T has a pre-heater to suck in hot air to allow the use of the crappy gas back in the 20's but I don't need that on my 455.

... ...................................................................... Hijacking this thread. I have the block off plates inserted in my car. I recently drove it to fill it up with gas and put stabil into it in preperation for winter hibernation. The car would barely run, it wouldn't idle and missed occasionally while running. It runs fine in warm weather.. I was worried something had gone wrong with the car, but can I attribute this to the exhaust crossover blocked off. This is after the car is warm. When it is cold it doesn't run very well because I pull the electric choke off to fast.
