First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... Yes it is the newer style spring, but it will work just fine. I am sure there are some good cm type mechanics around you who can set a manual choke and you wont have any issues. Electric is really nice but not needed.
Just Smile... It makes people wonder what you have been up too... http://www.dingdongtx.org/wapa/fb.htm http://firstgenfirebird.org/show/closeup.mv?CarID=53 Thanks, Kevin "In God We Trust" ----- Original Message ---- From: "Ridell, Niklas (C.N.)" <[email protected]> To: First Generation Firebird-L <[email protected]> Sent: Thu, December 17, 2009 4:57:01 AM Subject: [FGF] Q-jet choke with Edelbrock intake? First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... Hi guys, Asking for your experience here. I'm bolting my stock Quadrajet to a performer intake and wonder how to solve the choke. The intake seem to be made for a later style choke where the heat spring protrudes into the exhaust cross-over while the stock '68 choke is just depressed in a pocket. There's a block off plate that comes with the intake. It has a small screw hole where the old style choke can be attached so I guess it's also an adapter. But it leaves half the heat spring in the air so I'm a bit concerned the heat transfer wont be sufficient. What do you say, will it be good enough or should I ditch the heat spring thingy and convert my carb to electric choke? /Niklas ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Submissions to Firebird-L: <[email protected]> Unsubscribe from Firebird-L: <[email protected]> Help: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/firebird/Firebird-L.html> Classifieds: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/ubb/> Owner Pictures: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/show/> ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Submissions to Firebird-L: <[email protected]> Unsubscribe from Firebird-L: <[email protected]> Help: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/firebird/Firebird-L.html> Classifieds: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/ubb/> Owner Pictures: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/show/>
