I got the add-on upgrade notification upon Firefox 3.0 startup and decided to get the upgrade for Firebug. It then downloaded it and started Firefox. I noticed that the Firebug status-bar icon was gone so I checked the add-ons dialogue to see what's going on. It said that I should restart Firefox to apply something. Huh? What was that? Firebug was marked to install at restart. Didn't I just start Firefox?! So I restarted it, but it was all the same. Firebug doesn't install now, it wants to restart Firefox forever but never really installs anything. It always says that it will do that after a restart of Firefox. I am given the option to cancel the installation but that doesn't change a thing.
How can I fix this now?
