Also will be changed with the removal of text.

Not likely to change. The position is not related to ease of use,
except by habit. Since we messed that up completely, I won't change it
again.
The determining factors for easily hitting the button -- once you know
which one to hit -- is distance to target and target size. After the
Off text is removed, all the top three button will have the same size;
minimize will be trivially closer to the average position on the
Firebug screen.
BUT:
The primary minimize button is the Firebug status bar icon.
AND
The key F12 is bound to the minimize function.
Both are better than the 1.3 button anyway, in pure UI terms. I
understand you have habits from 1.3. Try the alternatives.
