Your analogy is actually incorrect. Entirely incorrect. Were you to
post a link to a poll on your home page and/or Mozilla project page
then your cross sample of poll respondents could be reasonably assumed
to be distributed more or less evenly amongst your user base. You are
not, in the least, intentionally only polling a certain sector of
users, like those local to your house--all of your users have internet
access and a browser, by definition, and all have access to either
your site or the Mozilla site. Regarding the true usefulness of the
results, there is furthermore no need to guess. You can calculate the
margin of error of your poll based on the number of results versus
approximate number of users using standard statistical computations.
Many poll sites will even provide a break down of poll respondents by
country.

I would disagree with that, but it seems this point is moot. If there
is no interest in this, then so be it. Firebug users appreciate all of
the work the team has put in and we realize that resources are limited
as well. I agree that there would be a good bit of work involved in
this and if it's not a priority, then that's OK.
