I agree that this group and folks who post on it are not a representative sample of FireBug users.
However, searching twitter for people mentioning FireBug and sampling their opinions might be an easier way to get a high-level feeling for reactions that DOES sample a much larger, more representative audience: http://twitter.com/#search?q=firebug The anecdotal samples I've pulled from the FireBug twitter stream over the last week have had many complaints about this behavior in FB1.4.
