Hi Sebastian, Yes, thanks for the info, indeed you are right and it could be handled like that for sure. Right now I simply have the Firebug icon added to my toolbar and if it's yellow (colored) I simply know it is active and that helps but that means I have to have another icon in my toolbar (or add-on bar) and I don't see the reason for that.
I also get you that closing the window is the same as minimizing the Firebug but I think it's confusing this way. For minimizing the Firebug you have to push a separate icon which makes you realize that you are minimizing the Firebug but if you click the window's close button (which you are use to close windows) it is now minimizing Firebug instead so you don't really know what is going on. I really think the best solution would be to reattach the Firebug to the Firefox window if the Firebug window is closed down without deactivating firebug. Hope it's not just me but I do understand if it is :) On Wednesday, November 21, 2012 8:06:36 AM UTC+2, Sebastian Zartner wrote: > > The indication that Firebug is minimized (and not deactivated) is the > colored Start Button > <https://getfirebug.com/wiki/index.php/Start_Button>while the UI is not shown. > Try out the button I showed you before for both cases, Firebug detached > and attached, and compare it with the behavior of closing the detached > Firebug window and you'll see what I mean. > > Btw. while there is no status bar in Firefox anymore in current Firefox > versions there is an add-on bar fulfilling the same purpose.
