Well, actually if I´d know that, I´ll be rich ;-)
It is point of view, as always...
You can choose between a rather grwon up concept like ipchains,
for which you get lots of info on the web, how-to´s , troubleshooting etc
and a lot of guys on the list to help you out (because they use it
and know quite a lot about it.) But it is OLD ;-) and it does not give
you the possibilities and advantages of the "new and improved" netfilter.
There is a whole new architcture in it, which is (or might be I better say)
much more powerfull as ipchains could ever be.
If start right now, check out netfilter, it will be an adventure ;-)
Ipchains has a good docu so far, netfilter has NOT (because people still
check it out)
