yes, i agree.
so i'd like to add to the above list:

* Total number of completions (not lines)

not really.
i like the %values better but with a compromize:

8%-32% of 160 completions

having the total number of completions is useful.
sometimes you want to count the number of files somewhere before you use
them in an argument. getting that with a quick hit on <tab> would be
quite convenient.
