I've had a couple of questions posed on my original post, so I'm going to (perhaps) commit a breach of netiquette and answer all at once. (Poor Ed will end up with answers to questions he did not ask....)
First...I have two versions of fldigi on my system, 3.21.0AK and 3.20.12. The same behavior exists with both. NOTE that both were compiled from source code, so it is possible that I do not have one or more of the dependencies. Second...it's been suggested using the "DTR" option - I can only assume "DTR +12v" since the other option would use DTR for PTT, and my SignaLink USB is handling that. I will have to do some additional wiring on my homebrew interface to add the DTR, as I have only wired three circuits, Rx, Tx, and Gnd. That's the hazards of borrowing from other designers' recommendations. Third...to Ed's question...the errors are: W: rigCAT_getmode: Retries failed W: rigCAT_getfreq: Retries failed 73, Eric AD7HM On 08/08/2010 05:30 AM, Ed wrote: > On 08/07/2010 09:02 PM, Eric Keerbs wrote: >> I'm not _convinced_ that this is an issue with the alpha >> software, however, I cannot get RigCAT to control my Icom >> IC-746Pro, whereas Hamlib works just fine. >> >> I'm using a USB-to-RS232 serial adapter, which is connected to >> a home-brewed RS232 to CI-V converter.
