My statement above is true when you consider we're talking about
setting up a Flex project that uses Coldfusion remoting in Flex
Builder.

What you are saying may be true, but in every flex preso I've attended
(CFUNITED06 and MAX06) they've said you have to have the
services-config.xml file... they said if you don't have access to the
server, you need to get a copy of the file at least for compilation
purposes.

And certainly, if what you say is true, there's nothing in the
documentation for setting up a flex project that says that.
