First, I'm new to HF, PowerSDR and the Flex-5000a. So, apology out of the way!
Here's the symptom: I'm monitoring 40m (in PowerSDR 2.xxx) and the signal strength on the station I'm tuned to averages -65 dBm. The average noise floor level is approximately -115 dBm. Periodically, and unpredictably, the entire noise floor drops to -150 dBm and then, again unexpectedly, raises again back to the -115 dBm average. What's going on here? FYI: I have not yet transmitted using this system since I was attempting to learn how to navigate RX. My computer system is an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40gHz. Win7 Ultimate, 64-bit, 8 GB memory. There are so many variables that might explain this! Where do I start to determine what's going on? Also see [FlexEdge] "Receiver changing sensitivity" submitted by George Steube. My issue appears to be his as well. Thanks in advance, 73 de N4PAX, Gerald _______________________________________________ Flexedge mailing list [email protected] http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexedge_flex-radio.biz This is the FlexRadio Systems e-mail Reflector called FlexEdge.
