Running 1.18.5 F5Ka, WinXP, Quad core @ 3.6Ghz, The only Rx loss experienced
here has to do with the Rx line switching.
I've had drop-outs that could only be corrected by flipping through the ANT
selector drop-down. None of these were transmit related in any
way....FYI....73...Jordan VE6ZT

ofsensitivity
Could this be a "dry contact" relay problem, where the contacts aren't
gold plated for dry-switching, and there isn't enough current through
the relay contacts to clean the oxide layer?
I don't think that's what's happening. We seem to have been two different
problems reported in this thread.
The first was that after transmitting, the RX sensitivity was dropped way
down.
The second was that sporadically the RX sensitivity would take a dump and
then quickly recover.
It was my thought that perhaps a bad relay was causing the first problem,
but likely not the second one. I too, have seen the sporadic drop in RX
sensitivity. I am pretty sure it is a software problem.
This afternoon while running PSDR 1.18.6, I was trying to setup a PSK
program. As soon as the PSK program was running, I began see sporadic
dropouts at intervals ranging from 5 seconds to two minutes. This only
happened when the PSK program was running. I tested both WinPSKse 2.23
and
WinWarbler. Both cause the same dropouts. Turning VAC on or off makes no
difference.
While the dropouts were happening, I watched the latency - no change. The
same with CPU time - no change. Network usage - no chance. BUT when the
dropout happens, the entire computer momentarily freezes - screen update,
mouse, audio, everything just stops.
Interesting.
