These might help: http://jsbsim.sourceforge.net/JSBSim.PDF http://jsbsim.sourceforge.net/ConfigurationFiles.pdf http://jsbsim.sourceforge.net/JSBSimCUJ.PDF http://jsbsim.sourceforge.net/JSBSim/FGFCSComponent.html Look for the flight controls relevant portion of the individual docs. The docs are somewhat scattered, but I am working on a better single doc that combines all the relevant information. Note that eventually JSBSim will model (optionally) an autopilot in various aircraft if for no other reason than it can be done, and would make a good experiment, as well as a great testbed for development. So we'd like to see no roadblocks thrown up for us to eventually use this feature with FlightGear. This isn't to say at all that it will be anytime soon. So, I'd say, "have fun!" Your effort will surely beat ours to the punch, but some of the above material might be helpful in showing how JSBSim implements the capability. We rely more heavily on building blocks of smaller components much as you would find in an aircraft FCS/autopilot block diagram. Since we can specify these components in a config file, we have great versatility. We don't model the switches, yet, which is of great importance. Jon
