I already noticed that there's a new culture on this planet that implies continuosly upgrading of everything that is upgradable. But I think it's not a good habit to force people to addict to this culture - especially not for an OpenSource project,

But as our time is limited we shouldn't waste too much on that topic.

If hardware can run a feature, that was aviable to a sensible price over 5 years ago (I'm thinking of an TNT, I bought mine end 98) I can't see any preasure for "continously updating".

If we'd start using shaders I could understand when the people are protesting. But not for stuff that worked 5 years ago!
Especially as FGFS would be damnd slow (i.e. unusable) on any older hardware anyway...
