Aaahh, OK. That explains a lot. Didn't think of this, but "Chase View wo yaw" is of no use for me, when there is already a "Helicopter View" anyway, so I didn't realize the loss. Sorry.
If the "jerkiness" is a problem, then I vote for setting at-model-alt-damping to zero until I have this fixed. Or, if I am the only one who wants the "Chase View", then we can of course remove it altogether, and I maintain the patch separately.
I think your chase view w/ the damping tweak should be kept. I suggest including it along w/ the other views in preferences.xml, in which case the number of views is greater than 6. But per Jim's proposal (if I understand it correctly), you'd need CTRL+v to get there.
Something interesting about your damped view is that it appears to simulate what MSFS has in their chase view (except I think w/ MSFS the chase view does not roll the horizon). So I think it should be part of preferences.xml, but again (not "to beat a dead horse") not at the expense of removing past capability, i.e. 6 views goes to 8, perhaps.
Regards, Michael
