I've test flown the Dutch MSFS scenery, and while the few sprinkled
objects enhanced the reality, Amsterdam still looks like farmland
mostly. I work in the Atlas building in Amsterdam Zuid-Oost, which
together with most of the Bijlmer is missing completely from the Dutch
MSFS scenery. The buildings that are present are spotty and isolated and
offer limited navigation opportunities. I for one would rather see
accurate roads and railways than buildings.

As a matter of fact, if I could buy decent hi-res aerial photography of
a quality comparable to that of, say, the commercial VFR sceneries for
MSFS for parts of England or Germany, I would buy it. Anything to make
me feel more at home in FGFS :-)

But, back to the topic at hand: it might be worthwhile to see if we
couldn't just join forces with the MSFS guys. I've got no clue how
scenery is set up in MSFS, but it just does not make sense to duplicate
this entire effort.

Cheers,

If the only tool you've got is an axe, every problem looks like fun!
