[Flightgear-devel] Question of Frame Rates

I just did a computer upgrade and I am trying to better understand its 
capabilities, WRT FlightGear.  To do this, I am curious as to the frame 
rates that people are seeing with buildings turned ON.  Here is my 
.frgsrc (and FlightGear is build single threaded):

--disable-clouds
--fdm=ufo
--disable-panel
--enable-anti-alias-hud
--disable-sound
--disable-random-objects
--prop:/sim/view/internal=false
--disable-clouds3d
On the tarmac, I am getting 20 FPS.  Fly at almost 200 knots (and about 
200 feet, by the time I am at the end of the runway I am getting 50 
FPS.  Following the road to the right, frame rate drops to about 11-13 
FPS.  Cross the hill and head to city, 9-11 FPS.  As I head through the 
city, toward the buildings, the worst frame rate I see is 8 FPS.

With my cygwin build on the PC I don't see the buildings (and cygwin 
does some very bad things with performance when writing to STDOUT and 
STDERR), so it kind of hard for me to benchmark it here.
