I had to re-login to my old machine to finish transferring some files. Here are the
frame rates that the old Mac was giving (it is a single processor G4 running at 867
MHz, with 1 GB RAM, GeForce3 with 64 MB RAM).

On tarmac = 8 FPS (compared to 20 with the new machine)
Flying at the end of the runway = 23 FPS (as compared to 50 FPS)
Heading right to follow the road = 8 FPS (as compared to 13)
Crossing the hill = 4 FPS (as compared to 9)
Flying through the city, toward the buildings = 3 FPS, worst case (as compared to 8)

While these number are definitely better than the old machine, I am still curious
about what PC and Linux people see (with buildings turned on, of course).

p.s., these numbers match what I was seeing with [EMAIL PROTECTED] It is nice seeing
two "benchmarks" yield similar results.

Of COURSE they can do that. They're engineers!
