Hi All
As one of only a few people who have built an
autopilot for FG.I would ask what the perseved
problems are with the current system.
While I admit there are improvements to be made
What is there is pretty good.
At the risk also of seeming rude I would ask what
experence the people who are proposing changes to
the autopilot/autothrottle systems have in this area.
If someone is keen to code up a system then may
I suggest a Flight Management System.FG could
realey use one of these.Failing that maybe a
weather radar

My 707 course notes indicate 14 inputs and 6 outputs

Why???.Thats why they are called a black box. And unless you work for Bendix/King or one of the other black box manufactures you will never know. After all what is in the black box is there bread and butter.

Yes. Me too. That's why JSBSim does things the way it does! :-)

My recommendation is to take this design very slowly, chew on it a while,
think about it. You want to do this right the first time. And, again, make
it optional.
