Now that I think about it again, i should probably make it much much much more obvious at the X driver dialog prompt. At the moment it asks if you'd like to change the auto seleted X driver. In most cases it's either "ati" or "radeon", which is both the open source driver. To use the propiertary driver you should answer "yes" and change it to one of the fglrx ones. So ***ATI*** users, please make sure you try them! It isn't obvious for even a Linux user who never has an ATI card to know which driver you should better use. I will correct this soon. Also the fglrx driver does not work with all ati cards. I guess I need to do something even more smart there to make this even more easy for people who doesn't know what to choose.
