No error messages from plib in the terminal window? The texture is really an SGI image (and not a GIF with RBG extension, or something)? If this isn't "secret" stuff, then you could offer the files for download, so that we can have a look. If Blender shows the object textured, then I can only imagine that fgfs/plib doesn't find the texture.
