I'm not blowing it out of proportion - it starts with "harsh language", then moves to "harsh phrases" and then ends up at "things I don't wish discussed." A multi-player server exists to pass traffic amongst client machines. Filtering text chat should never be under its purview. Don't misunderstand me - I completely understand the desire of the end-user to not want to be exposed to rude behavior or dialog. That's their choice and should ALWAYS remain under THEIR control. You want to limit access to the common MP servers to "validated" users? I'm all for it! Not only can it be used to hold people accountable (via public "air traffic communication logs"), but would open up the ability for people to keep online flight-logs and other interesting bits that people might want to track. (enable gold star icons for every 10,000 miles flown or something - you get the idea) If however, you want to make the MP servers the arbiters of what can and cannot be said in text chat... Well let's just say, "that dog don't hunt." and leave it at that. g. -- Proud owner of F-15C 80-0007 http://www.f15sim.com - The only one of its kind. http://www.simpits.org/geneb - The Me-109F/X Project ScarletDME - The red hot Data Management Environment A Multi-Value database for the masses, not the classes. http://www.scarletdme.org - Get it _today_! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nokia and AT&T present the 2010 Calling All Innovators-North America contest Create new apps & games for the Nokia N8 for consumers in U.S. and Canada $10 million total in prizes - $4M cash, 500 devices, nearly $6M in marketing Develop with Nokia Qt SDK, Web Runtime, or Java and Publish to Ovi Store http://p.sf.net/sfu/nokia-dev2dev _______________________________________________ Flightgear-devel mailing list Flightgear-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/flightgear-devel
