It would certainly be good for you to find what caused the non-Rembrandt slow-down, since the only thing that should possibly have happened in that time is shader changes - nothing in the C++ scene that should make such a large difference. James ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ James You made me think (no funny jokes please). So I removed "-enable-rembrandt"from system.fgfsrc and got 60fps again. Therefore my post should have read 40 fps (no shadows), and less than 20 (with shadows) as that is what I did, stupidly thinking that the shadows button would turn Rembrandt off. Sorry for the misleading post, but I think that my comment about increasing power requirements still holds good. On the subject of shadows, I am seeing very clear black shadows when it is raining. I don´t recall ever seeing these in real life, even on rainbow days. Making raindrop shadows must eat up a lot of CPU/GPU wherever it is done. Thanks for waking up my brain . ;) Alan ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
