I've not tried them myself, nor have I have every seen a machine
running one of these cards.  But, a recent review I saw (can't
remember where now) indicated that you can get a lot of mileage out of
the ATI cards, but the linux drivers are not as fast.  They also said
you should expect occasional visual anomolies as well as occasional
crashes.
