I am a absolute novice as far as FlightGear is concerned and not very
skilled at using Linux less so CVS.
I asked for help on this with exactly the same errors you have
experienced under heading newbie CRY for HELP freeglut was problem.  I
wiped all traces I could find on my system of freeglut 2.4.0 I then
tenuosly proceeded to CVS compile and make etc. No problem at all with
outcome everything solved.  Suse10.00 Amd 3200+ 64bit processor.  I just
cannot fly the thing but it all works. Cessna 172 to F16-3d Wish I could
Fly it. Curtis Olsen pointed me in the right direction
