They do indeed - check out the Lightning for an example (maybe more convoluted than you might want, but should give an idea at least.) It's a pity JSBSim doesn't allow such devices yet (a Phantom would be great for flying from our carriers) - there is a patch floating around to provide such a function but of course that's not really an option for a plane you intend to be more widely distributed.
