I have posted here before about seeing a Vulcan squadron
scramble at Finingley at about the same time.  Definitely
one of the most memorable sights and sounds of a lifetime.
For me, the aeroplane is just the most astonishing
combination of grace, excitement and menace.  It
*still* looks like something out of Science Fiction.

Bearing in mind her purpose, the Yeats line sums it up : "A
terrible beauty is born."
