The range to pick should then be U+F880 - U+F8FF (not U+F88F), or maybe U+F780 - U+F7FF). Note that the standard recommends: "By convention, the primary Private Use Area is divided into a corporate use subarea for platform writers, starting at U+F8FF and extending downward in values, and an end-user subarea, starting at U+E000 and extending upward. ... ". I understand this so that FLTK would be categorized as "platform writers" (software developers), and hence we should assign "our" area at the upper end of the Private Use Area.
