there are many attracted for years, based on a promised better fltk.
 - UTF8 (i18n)
 - clean API
 - themes (FLTK is known as ugly)
 - small footprint (sp. for unix)
since there is no default gui on unix (besides x) there is a need.
and some already gave up following fltk fltk-utf8 efltk fltk2.
common proof for usability is the number of applications.
quick googling gives (many really old links too):

bigger projects:
dillo download-gui (fltk2)
dillo frozen (fltk2)
cinepaint -glasgow (fltk2/?)
several language bindings (lisp/ruby/lua...) (will support fltk2)
gnu gnash (?)
equinox (efltk/merging back to fltk2)

some mixed applications: (guess using compat layer)
ng-star
xdiskusage
flpsed
flwm

some fltk2 widgets...

alternatives to *fltk* are claro/fox/juce/toad/ultimate/vcf/...
but i still hope for fulltick. ;)
