+10 True, and IMHO those (except maybe for small footprint) will only gain
significance in time.

I've "seen" (not used them and/or get to know them thoroughly all of them)
libraries (I would say most of free portable libraries available), but I
did'nt know of "toad" and "claro", thanks :)

Nice list of GUI libraries/frameworks can be found here:
http://www.atai.org/guitool/

Some of my light (first) impressions:
- Qt: comprehensive/bloated library. IMHO bad as an base toolkit for popular
desktop environment, such as KDE, because of licencing which would repel all
those who don't want to release their program on GPL terms - for desktop
versions on two platform it's cost is: $4950
- wxWidgets: comprehensive/bloated, and uses GTK on Linux. Some complain about
macro uses in it,
- Juce, it's full of eye candies, and has almost the same "issues" with
licensing (I don't say it isn't fair, if you don't wanna make money on it's
free otherwise pay for their sweat, but that does'nt chage the fact that it's
not completely free), for open source programs it's free, for others it
costs: £399 for single product and £699 for any number of products, like they
say on their website :)
- Ultimate++ is very intereseting toolkit, that as I recall, can have real
Windows XP look on Linux :) Some say it has some issues with code style (!?),
havent tried it myself though (althoug I might... :)). It has it's own IDE,
- V has IMHO ugly motiff look on Linux... (enough said ;)),
- VCF is promising toolkit but as I can see there is still no stable Linux
port,
- Toad is still not stable, cannot say anything else I found out about it
today,
- Claro, I could'nt access theirs site,
- FOX, comprehensice but not too much bloated library with Unicode support,
and has the same look on both Windows and Linux - like Windows 98. Again some
complain about macro uses. My personal next choice after I explore more few
other (Ultimate++ for instance).

There are also other but some of them I could'nt see (Claro, Coral...), for a
complete list with all obsolete, not developed any more libraries/framework
visit above website.
