I was re-reading the Article #825(Versioning an vision), and I am trying to 
figure out which is the best release to work with.
It seem that 1.3 will be the actively supported release in the future, so I 
should abandon ftlk2(and my thousand++ loc in fltk2).
FLTK-core-team should also discontinue the dev of fltk2 release. (I also hope 
that 1.4 will not start/released in parallel with 1.3).

As you said,I was seriously thinking of correcting the fluid2(already started). 
But why bother to do so in a release without clear future? I wouldnt want to 
end up be alone out there. It seems better to port my fltk2 apps to 1.3 and 
port any fltk2 futures in 1.3 (as needed).
