don't know her qualifications really, but one rarely knows
them anyway unless you're a long time reader of that
person's critiques. the "observer" is a weekly mag that's
akin to something like "the stranger" in seattle or "the
reader" in chicago (and L.A. too, i think), etc. so think
of your local "alternative" rag and you'll understand how
much one usually doesn't know about a critic's background.
