I've understood Beuys to be this very celebrity: his 'talks' were always
illustrated with great flourish on a provided portable green/black-board,
the last marks on which were always preserved with fixative after the
event as a marketable objet d'art, and partially compensated for his big
fees. (Funny thing is, when he did this routine at NSCAD (Halifax), that
night, the school's caretaker got to it first and dutifully erased/cleaned
it! Beuys was summoned back and concocted a replacement.)
