Yes - the password management issue is one I have been mulling over. And even if we go with individual passwords, I wouldn't' kid myself that anything on there would actually be reliably secret from the companies. But it seems good to make spying at least slightly more difficult and the actions required to do it slightly more deliberate (using an individual's password rather than a universal password, for instance). I will keep mulling and will contact support about the site (we are in the process of moving our site to a unionized host, so might as well make all these changes at once!).

It shouldn't be hard for them to set up password-protected directories in your site.
