jfor is not meant to be about text only, but has initially been written for a customer project that required only text and straight-looking tables, hence the perceived emphasis on text. Andreas Putz contributed much code regarding images: PNG, JPEG, GIF, EMF and BMP images are supported in jfor 0.5.1. The plan is to use Batik for SVG, but no one is working in that currently. Table borders, among a bunch of other things, are being worked on by Chris Scott, self-titled "Head engineer of making it look pretty", which is promising... So, even though in my view RTF is more a "structure format" than a "layout format", it wouldn't hurt to get better-looking documents out of jfor, and the current code base is certainly open to improvements! -- -- Bertrand Delacrétaz, www.codeconsult.ch -- jfor.org lead developer --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
