My statement was meant to be taken, if it wasn't my bad on poor wording, as
saying we should be focusing/targeting novice users but yet still
acknowledge that power users aren't overlooked. So we should be mainly
targeting novice users with a secondary focus on power users. Again I am no
wordsmith so I completely agree that we shouldn't use the term power user
but I used the term for a lack of a better term. I worry that if we only
focus on the novice users we might be losing a chance at a valuable pool of
intermediate to advanced users. I have heard from multiple
intermediate/advanced linux users that they don't like a lot of the coined
'user-friendly' distros because they make it so easy for novice users that
the advance users feel their hands are tied together. I don't seem to hear
a lot of complaints about that when it comes to Foresight and I would hate
to see us lose a group of people because of a misconception of user-friendly
distros.
