In practice at my desk, op x00 Nop does NOT reliably persuade the device to raise INTRQ. x00 Nop remains how I ask an ATA HDD to raise INTRQ without DRQ ... but xEC ATA Identify is now how I ask an ATAPI device to raise INTRQ without DRQ.
