Well... If you are a member of the SATA secret society then I suggest you bring it up there because T13 may not be allowed to discuss this problem or change ATA/ATAPI-7 without the SATA secret society's permission. You notice how no one else joined our conversation... It could be that anyone with knowledge of this issue has signed the SATA secret society's NDA and can't talk about it in public.
