Hi Bob, I can uploaded some package successfully, but when my package has one .pdf file, it can't upload...
my case is:
I uploaded one package successfully and analysis successfully, but when I
added one pdf file in this package, reupload, it did not upload
successully. In upload page and fossolog.log, it did not show any message,
I checked 'Admin-Database-check' in my page, it did not show any message.
in 'jobs-queue-summary', it did not have any...
Reason for using upper case:
From your former description, we can use mime-type, metadata, and spec file
analysis to analysis some file information that will not related with
license analysis, but I want to compare this three analysis and report to
my colleague...In my test, when I uploaded one common package, I find if I
only choose license analysis, it also has [meta] link. If I choose all
analysis(total 4 optional analysis), it show the same contents with the
former....I want to use some test case to check...
Thanks for your help:)

Alice

Hi Bob,
Thanks for your helping!! I have learned lots of things(*^__^*) But
I still had some troubling:
1.About the question1, I want to export license result to my local
system, that other people can see the result easily and no need to
login fossology. But it is not requried, only one idea:)
Is the issue that you don't want them to have to login or that you want an
export format that can be easily imported into another program (csv, excel,
rtf, ...)? If the former, I can tell you how to change the license view
plugin so that it doesn't require authentication. If the later, we have
that on our todo list. If you want the report as a pdf, you can (if you
have adobe acrobat) write the web page off as a pdf. For example, on my
mac I can simply "print to pdf".
2.About question2,
'The Metadata analysis uses libextractor to determine information
about various files. For example, the author in pdf files, the
resolution of jpg's, etc.'
It means when my uploaded package has some specific files, such as
pdf, jpg... I should open this optional, right? If my uploaded
package only has text file, C file...and do not choose 'Metadata
analysis', it can metadata analysis by default right? In my
environment, when I uploaded some common type files, and do not
choose 'Metadata analysis', I also can see the 'meta' in result.
In general, I do not select the metadata analysis option because I'm
usually only interested in the license analysis. You can always run it
later if you change your mind.
But I had one problem: when I upload some specific type file, such as
jpg, pdf...but it does not upload successfully and with any comments
in uploaded page and log file? I installed the fossology base on the
install instructions, I installed the dependencies,is there any
settnig I should set? or is there anything I am wrong?
Could you be more specific on the steps you are taking?
Is this a problem with only a specific type of file you are uploading? How
do you know the upload isn't successful?
Can you do any successful uploads and analysis?
