I charge a $50 deposit per entertainer to book the date. Then after four weeks before this is not refundable.
However I keep it on file, and they can use it for the deposit on that new party date. My people have been very happy with this option, and most either repeat the party soon, or I get to keep the deposit...Obviously for pay for face events, I lose anything I put up front, but often I will get their tax id number and it goes down for taxes as a donation (if a non-profit org is organizing the event) or as bad debt (if a profit concern hosted the event). Rainouts are very common in this part of the country, but the Farmer's almanac says this year will be dry in the northeast!!!!!
