I think that the difference here is that this probably *only* happens with FM. If it was all (or at least other) apps, then it would likely be an OS or VM issue, but if it's just FM, then there's probably something slightly incompatible being done in FM that Adobe should be aware of. Granted, Adobe doesn't claim to support this environment, but it's certainly not an uncommon situation.

I use VMware Fusion to run FM on my Mac, and the only crash I ever see that seems VM related is when I'm using FM8 and I flip from Windows to Mac while FM is busy doing something. It doesn't crash all of the time though .. probably just 5% of the time. I just make a point of saving before switching to the Mac OS. I've not seen this with other FM versions, nor do I see other VM-related crashes in FM. All in all it's far more stable than pre-VM days.

OK, this really isn't a slam -- honest.

But you guys are complaining about buggy behavior in an operating environment, an emulator, that is not supported by Adobe. And from the sound of it, it's a pretty good bet that the device drivers for monitors or UI devices and the lack of signalling between layers may be the actual issue.

Wouldn't it be easier to ask in a Mac or Parallels forum? I get that someone else running the same type of unsupported environment may have the same issue.... but if you run in a corner case environment, kind of by definition you take your chances on stuff not working correctly.

Doesn't really seem to be a Frame issue.

    Hi Alan,

I also had the impression it had to do with the mouse. But lately
it aso happened when my mouse was dead (battery...).
Especially when a book is open (or a ditamap) and some
pods/panels, the document screen gets smaller and can not show the
complete page. Scrolling left or right causes a crash...

I'm running the same environment. Horizontal scroll on an unsaved
file ... boom. Never fails. I see this most often in structured
mode, but I do most of my work in that mode.

I always assumed it was my Apple Magic Mouse(TM), but perhaps not.
