I'm not sure I agree. All you'll need to do for each instance is delete the middle column of the table and then retag the paragraph in the right cell. And maybe resize the right column, which you can do globally if you have Rick Quatro's wonderful TableCleaner plug-in and have applied the same table format to each of the tables. No muss, no fuss.
